The night sky above the White Desert, Bareiya Oasis

Satellite trails and Perseid meteor shower amongst the stars and constellations of the night sky over the White Desert at Bareiya Oasis, Western Sahara, Egypt.

The Meidum Pyramid is known for being Egypt's first straight-sided pyramid built during the transition from the Third to the Fourth Dynasty, around 2600 BCE. It was attributed to Pharaoh Huni, the last ruler of the Third Dynasty, and likely continued by his successor, Pharaoh Sneferu.

Construction Dates and Builders:
Sneferu's reign marked significant innovations in pyramid construction, and the Meidum Pyramid represents a pivotal transition from step pyramids to the smooth-sided pyramids that later defined the Giza plateau. It partially collapsed in ancient times, giving it the nickname **el-heram el-kaddaab** or "False Pyramid" in Egyptian Arabic.

Visitors to the Meidum Pyramid can observe the remains of what was once a step pyramid that underwent modifications to transform it into a true pyramid. Today, only the three highest levels of the pyramid protrude through the sands and collapsed debris. The site also contains several mudbrick mastabas, which are ancient Egyptian tomb structures.


The interior of the pyramid features a corbelled ceiling in the burial chamber, designed to distribute the weight of the masonry above and prevent collapse. The entrance to the pyramid is located on the north face, leading to a descending passage that extends below ground level and culminates in a horizontal passage. This leads to a vertical shaft ascending to the burial chamber.

The Meidum Pyramid is located 72 kms south of modern Cairo.

​Important as an ancient spiritual and ceremonial site to the First Australian's, the original people, particularly the local Guringai, having a deep connection for thousands of years since the land was created. The island contains rock carvings and paintings illustrating its historic record.

The Dreaming reveals that since the beginning of Time, Ancestral Beings shaped and moulded the land through their personal relationship with it, giving life to the People and their culture through moral understanding and physical interaction. They in turn became the living spirits of the rocks and mountains and the stars overseeing their creation.

As found in multiple Ancient cultures across the world, the Naga snake is represented in Australia by the Rainbow Serpent, an important creator God that brings forth the vitality of life, connected to fertility and water and the prosperity of the community. Connection to the Dreaming shows the Way of Nature and following the Natural Law of the Land living with both chaos and order as a loving guide to co-creation and embodiment of a harmonious existence - which has become the theme for 2024 !!

Kariong Petroglyphs

​A numerous variety of glyphs that span the many changes in writing style across most of the dynasties of the Old and New Kingdoms. These were not organised and uniformly presented in chiselled cut form across the rockface, but rather scratched crudely into the surface in a haphazard manner like hand-carved reproductions lifted from the pages of a guide / history book in modern times. There is an accompanying story regarding two Egyptian brothers who had sailed to Australia 5000 years ago and got shipwrecked.
Sent a copy to Sayed Adli in Egypt who confirmed immediately that these were not Egyptian in origin but by someone who had seen hieroglyphs in Egypt and had wanted to spend time recreating them back in Australia.
Most interesting though and praise to the courageous carver who persisted creating these whilst enduring a cloud of vicious biting mosquitos prevalent in this area.
It was certainly a special place with very large Grandmother Red Gum trees and numerous indigenous rock scratchings (petroglyphs) along the many trails and huge sandstone blocks.

 A unique example of early pyramid development in Egypt, this was the second pyramid built by Sneferu.
It rises from the desert at a 54-degree inclination, but the top section above 47 metres is built at a shallower angle of 43 degrees, giving the pyramid a visibly 'bent' appearance.
It is believed that the Bent Pyramid represents a transition between the step-sided and smooth-sided pyramids in an attempt to determine the best angle to create the slope of a pyramid. The original steepness of the original angle of inclination began to show signs of instability during construction, forcing the builders to adopt a shallower angle to prevent the structure's collapse.
This appears to be supported by the building of the Red Pyramid, built immediately afterwards by the same pharaoh, which was constructed at the preferred angle of 43 degrees from its base to the top.

The Polaris Position - facing North from the Serdab.

The Serdab was a sealed off room in a tomb in which a statue of the deceased was placed. These statues were vessels that the soul could inhabit. Djoser's Serdab is located here, on the North side of the Step Pyramid.. A statue depicting the king wearing the Sed Festival robe was discovered inside (the original is in the Egyptian Museum and is replaced by a duplicate copy).

Two holes made through the wall directly face the King's gaze allowing the King to peer through and see the rituals and festivals taking place in the court before him. These holes also allowed the king to look north, the cardinal point towards which, his entire pyramid complex is oriented. This is the location of Polaris and the other circumpolar stars in the Northern Sky, his ancestor, whom he hoped to join. These stars never set below the horizon, which was seen as a sign of immortality. Djoser was thus poised to join his forefathers in everlasting life.

Nothing is slowing down as we now pass through the Soulstice season and into the New Year, and self-care is a must as we take ourselves through these strong gateways of transformation. Flowing with the Divine Plan, even while not fully seeing what that is; going with the flow of life and finding enjoyment in every day will serve us well at this time.

Bringing in our ‘greater’ selves: remembering each day to sit with the wholeness of who we really are for Love and Guidance. Feeling the Creative Force, the life force, the flow of nature pulsating through our physical bodies – it is always there. This unstoppable force – the spiral of creation – is our natural divine goldprint, our purpose: ever-creating, evolving, expanding, leading us forwards to create the new.

This is the force which holds ‘God consciousness’ or ‘Source energy’, and it is within us. It is us. It pulsates through us, onwards, ever-loving, ever-present. It is the Golden Light to lift us through these immensely challenging times.

When we give ourselves over to the Golden Light, we are washed clean of our fears and anything of a low or old vibration.
Only the Gold Frequency of Love can reside within us, seeking to express itself through us daily, seeking to create, to flow where it is divinely required for the evolution of humanity into the Golden Age.

This famous Sarajevo landmark is well known as representing the proudness or spite of the Bosnian character. It is named Inat Kuca - the Spite House and became a fine traditional Bosnian restaurant in 1997.

​When the Austro-Hungarian monarchy came to power in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it built numerous buildings such as the Post Office, the National Museum, the Faculty of Law etc. But, when they started with the construction of the City Hall in 1892, they encountered the defiance and stubbornness of a native Bosnian.

The planned location for the construction of the City Hall was to be on the side of the river Miljacka. The ruling monarchy wanted to construct an impressive building that had not been seen before in Sarajevo, in order to demonstrate to its citizens, their strength and power.

To construct the City Hall required the demolition of the surrounding buildings including one house belonging to an old man named Benderija. However he absolutely refused to move or have his house destroyed because he had made it his own castle and palace of peace.  Despite holding out, after long drawn out negotiations, he finally agreed that the Monarchy could have the land the house was built upon - only, if they moved the entire house to the other side of the river and rebuilt it entirely, brick by brick, stone by stone. Not only that, out of spite he also requested that the Monarchy pay him a bag of gold coins as well to ensure his future prosperity. 

They agreed to the old man's stubborn demands and the house became known all over Bosnia as Inat Kuca - the Spite House, to signify one man's stubborn and spiteful defiance against the ruling classes.

Bled Lake and Bled Castle

The largest Basilica in Slovenia and a major pilgrimage site receiving up to 400,000 each year around May 24th dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title, Mary Help of Christians. 

The site was originally a Christian Chapel in the 15th Century before the present building was consecrated in 1900. Visited by Pope John Paul II in 1996, it was granted with the title of Minor Basilica and has since been declared a national shrine of Slovenia. ​

Skocjan Caves is a spectacular cave system in southwest Slovenia with impressive stalactites, stalagmites, and other interesting rock formations, but what sets this cave apart from other caves is the underground Reka river and the largest discovered underground cavern in all of Europe (and one of the largest in the world). The cavern is of colossal proportions with a river running way below it seriously feels like you’ve been transported into Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and you are about to witness the battle between Gandalf and the Balrog – the chamber is that huge. The cave is several million years old and due to its exceptional significance, the Skocjan Caves are a UNESCO protected site since 1986.
