​Luxor / Thebes Temple's Sanctuary of Alexander the Great

​Luxor Temple's primary purpose was to claim the divine birth of Amenhotep III. The decorative carvings show the God Amun-Ra materialising into Amenhotep's mother, Mutemwia's bedroom disguised as his father, Thutmose IV with the statement - 'Amenhotep, son of Ra shall be the name of the child I have placed in your womb'.  The addition of Divine DNA being added by the Sun God to his Being.

We see this story repeated many times throughout history in which the child becomes part of a legendary story that tells of them being born under mysterious circumstances which involve divine beings and magic with each then having a claim to a higher position that their normal birth would not have given them. The story has similar parallels with King Arthur being born after his mother, Igraine was magically charmed by Merlin into sleeping with Uther Pendragon, King of Britain whilst in Tintagel. This again would give Arthur the later powers he needed to draw Excalibur from the Stone and lay title to the claim of King.  

Egypt was one of Alexander the Great's first conquests. He took it without resistance in 332 BC and was crowned Pharoah at Memphis before visiting the Siwa Oracle who recognised his greatness and was famed to name that he would receive 'whatever the heart desires'. He arrived in Thebes (now Luxor) and built a sanctuary at the great Temple complex. He chose the same temple as Amenhotep so that a similar story could be said about his own right to become a divine leader of ruling Egypt. He commissioned a shrine to position himself as the legitimate heir of the Pharoahs by illustrating in carved relief that he was  seen being recognised and honoured by many of the God's. His room was previously an antechamber to Amenhotep III's main sanctuary.

He left Egypt four months later to continue his great journey of conquests. The kingdom he left behind was seized by his general Ptolemy after his death in 323 BC, thus beginning a continuous line of Kings and Queens that would come to end with Cleopatra VII's suicide in 30 BC.
