Pachamama Ceremony, Nazca, Peru

Celebrating the anniversary of the founding of Nazca, Peru with a traditional dinner to honour Pachamama - the Earth Mother. 

The meal involves lining a ground fire pit with charcoal heated volcanic stones and burying maize, sweet potato, fava beans, onions, peppers and a variety of meats. The Challa ceremony involves blessing the fire pit with Chicha - purple maize juice. The appointed Spiritual 'godfather' then digs up the fire pit to remove the cooked buried food from within the Earth mother's body. This brought forth many elemental nature spirit's to express Love and offer gratitude for the fruits of the Earth. The higher vibrations pass into the food to be consumed. A beautiful ceremony to honour Pachamama and a delicious cooked meal of traditional lncan food.
