Winchester - ancient capital of Britain. Location of King Arthur's Round Table hung upon the walls of the Great Hall, the only remaining part of the original Winchester Castle. This table is not the original but was of later construction dating to the 13th Century, is made of solid Oak and is 5.5 metres in diameter. It was painted with its current design in the time of Henry VIII (c. AD1516) featuring a central Tudor rose and includes 24 names of the famous Knights of the Round Table.
In keeping with the noble principles of the Magna Carta of AD1215 signed between King John and the Baron's (noble birthright landowners), the table was made round so there was no head to the table, which declared the noble message that everyone who sat around the table was of equal status and importance with none above the other. Obviously in life, each individual had differing roles, positions, titles, some had more, some less, some with much land, some with greater wealth and power - but when brought together, around one table, each were considered equal and that is the principal of nobility and honour that has stood throughout time as a measurement of Divinity within all human kind. All are created Divinely Equal throughout time, not through the temporal trappings of Earth existence. With Loving Blessings Paul Dobrée-Carey
